Well, because life couldn't get any crazier, we got a puppy. We somehow managed to make it to our weekly coffee shop amidst the craziness. It was a perfect spring day, so we decided to take a walk down Southport to Cafe Tola for iced lattes.
I wish there were more places like Cafe Tola. Even thought it's the size of a one car garage, they do a great job maximizing their interior and exterior space. The walls are colorful, and Calaca's can be seen on every single shelf & corner. The most obvious, though, is their recently painted exterior wall mural which is changed every few months.
Not only is their space cheerful, but their coffee is delicious. As you may have read from previous posts, Colectivo Coffee is one of our favorites, so it's nice to live so close to a shop that brews it! Charlie made the bold statement that his latte was "one of the best" he's ever had, and I couldn't disagree. We enjoyed our drinks for a short time on their outdoor patio (there is no indoor seating) and saw a constant flow of customers. We ordered an empanada on our way out. After all, you can't go to Cafe Tola without getting an empanada!
